Fridge seals

Built in fridge seals on a 450cc

How do you remove the top lifting lid to replace the rubber seals?
The lid does not lift higher enough to allowing you to remove the screws from the hinge!

Can someone advise.

Bottom rests on a pin remove top bracket and it should lift off bottom pin. Leave bottom bracket in place

Thanks, but it is easier said then done.. It looks like one long piano hinge.
There is only 12 inches one side and 18 inches the other. The length of the pin will be 26 inches!
Tapping on the pin with a pin punch does not move it either way.

Is this the correct approach?

I think you remove the piston then remove any the screws from the hinge to the fridge inside

Yes, you have to take off the "C" clip that holds the pin on the lift piston end, remove the pin and the lid should lift higher to give you access to the piano hinge screws. I've found that a small flat blade screwdriver is the best tool for removing the "c" clip.
