Fridge not working

I have a new to me 1995 Oceanis 400 with top loading freezer (which works) and top loading fridge to the left of the cooker and sink that doesn't. Seems bizarre but I don't know where the compressor is to test. Can't believe it inaccessible and built in!

There is power to the main timer switch, but no sign of buzzing or clicks to indicate a working compressor.... where is it?

Ideas please....

Could the compressor be engine mounted? On the charter boats, when there is a timer on the cooling circuit, they are usually engine mounted. The timer circuit closes the clutch on the engine belt driven pulley. Obviously the engine has to run in order to turn the compressor.

Ah, I'll check! Thanks, will let you know!
It does make sense as previous owner told me the freezer works off the engine battery, but the engine has to running to get the fridge working. I assumed that the power was driven off an alternator output.

Thanks Jake, it is indeed an engine mounted Sanden 5H14. The clutch is slipping and although the first stage is spinning from the drive belt it is not engaging the actual compressor. The unit has been idle for a year so looks like it needs a strip down.
Thanks for your help.

Make sure that you have the correct voltage at the clutch coil when the timer is engaged. It is probably 12 VDC.

It's showing 13.2 at the switch, I'll check what is there at the clutch. Looking for a dry joint or bad wire given the lack of use.....

The power from the switch could also go through a pressure switch. The clutch may not close if the refrigerant pressure is too low. Good luck.
