I was on the Yahoo site for Beneteau 423 and read that Beneteau does not give factory tours on Friday. I was told by my dealer that we could tour the factory on Fridays. We have hull # 142 and was told that it was under construction at this time. Any thoughts regarding this?

How will you be moving your boat?

Bill, How will you be getting your 393 to Kentucky Lake? That would help me with suggestions for you. Kentucky lake is a beautiful lake with many anchorages available and you'll find the boaters are very helpful. We have our boat at Lighthouse Landing which is a Hunter and Beneteau dealer. I forgot to ask when will you be bringing your boat to Ky Lake. slips in the marinas are hard to get so you may want to make plans ASAP. Joe Joe

No Friday Tours

The factory uses Fridays to move boats in production from one work station to the next. Thus the boats move "up the line" once a week, unless there is a problem whereupon they are set aside. They wouldn't want you in the way when the moves take place; liability concerns, etc. I visited my Oceanis 311 under construction last October. Well worth the time and trouble to get there.

Factory Tour

Any information regarding a factory tour. Do they welcome you to take a tour. Our 39.3 is being made and have thought about taking the trip South to see her being made.

Go!

By all means go see the building process. They are glad to have people come through and see the cleanliness and attention to detail. Get your dealer to set it up for you; give him a time frame and they'll welcome you. The tour takes about two to three hours.

Friday tours

I forward my concern about a Friday tour to the Beneteau factory and was relived to find out that they do give tours on Friday. When I ordered our 423 the dealer and factory reps. encouraged my wife and I to come down for a factory tour. I've been told we won't regret taking the time to go.
