Friction lock on throttle

Anyone ever improvise a friction lock for the throttle on one of those old Johnson outboards?TIAJim

OMC Friction Lock

There was a kit made to add adjustable throttle friction. I had a 1995 9.9 and bought one from my dealer.

I will asssume that yours is moving when running. I would suggest contact a good mechanic for this question.

Yep- your local OMC dealer should have one in stock. We had one put on our motor when we bought it a few years back. Cost about $10 and took about 5 minutes.Good luck...
