I am planning on relocating my boat from Kentucky Lake to the Key Biscayne area. Can anyone give me some advise on exactly what needs to be done to the boat as far as protection from the new elements is concerned?

If you are going to leave the boat in the water, you will need salt water bottom paint. Otherwise nothing special in preparation. Wash the boat with fresh water as often as you can in the dry season. god will wash it for you in the rainy season. Enjoy Biscane Bay.

Ya might want to make sure your zincs are zinc instead of the freshwater magnesium.. Like Bill says.. new bottom paint.. and ya good to go.

Petit Trinidad with all the new additives in it is good for salt water for bottom paint. I would check with a local yard to see what they use.

The other question is whether you are going to move by water or ship the boat.

Wax, wax and wax. If you want to keep the gelcoat shinning you will need to wax the top sides about every 6 months, the hull once/year. The Florida sun is brutal.
