My tank is in the same place

My tank on my 1979 Hunter 25 is in the same place as yours and is a flexible tank. I am thinking about replacing mine this winter. Plan to get at it by going thru the bulkhead behind the quarter berth. This is removable without to many grunts and groans. Hopefully, once the fill port is free and the pump hose disconnected, I can pull it aft and then out thru the bulkhead. On paper it works and hopefully Murphy's Law will not come into play.

Agree with John...

I think John has the right method, if you're able to work your way into that space from that angle. Otherwise, you may be able to pass the tank out through the starboard lazarette opening, once you get it out from under the ice box. The previous owner of my H25 replaced the original flexible water tank with a 25 Gallon bladder, and put it in the same location that the old tank came out of. To do so, he apparently used a jigsaw and cut a 30-inch wide section out of the lazarette wall, just to the left of the water fill port. Makes it easy to get to the bilge, but storing anything in the lazarette is a challenge! If you'd like to see pictures, e-mail me at jonbastien@yahoo.com- I'll shoot a few for you next time I go to the boat. --Jon Bastien H23/H25

Agree with John also...

My bladder on my '78 H25 was a mess. I just threw the whole thing away, including the hose (yuck). If you're going to put something permanently in, I'd go aft, either under the cockpit or in one of the lazarettes. I like a solid type container personally. If you can mount it in either the starboard or port lazarettes, you'll be able to use gravity to move water instead of pressure or a pump.
