fresh water tank leak

I sail a 33.5T boat vintage 1991. The fresh water tank situated under the V berth has developed a very significant leak, somewhere from the bottom2 problems; 1) tank is large for access/ troubleshooting to see the source of the leak 2) any attempt of replacing/repairing the tank entails complete removal of bed support in the V berth which sounds crazyAny one with similar experiencshelpJoseph Minkowitzheartbeat18@sympatico.ca

Water Tank Leak

Hello Joseph,My Hunter 335 (1990) has the same problem. I have asked several people here about the problem and there are others with the same dilema. I am planning on removing the alum. tank and replacing it with a bladder tank.I measured the tank, and like you say, the v-berth will have to be cut to remove it, but it will come thru the companionway thru the head/lavatory area of this boat.Good luck,Cap'n BrentElena Luahttp://www.elenalua.homestead.com
