Hello to all I am hopefully very close to finishing up a purchase of a 272. I need help in evaluating the fresh water system that is in this boat . I am not sure how it is set up----- my concern is because this boat was kept in winter storage for the past two seasons and I am not sure if damage to the holding tank and lines has occured . The sink near the the stove area works fine the sink in the head shows little water from the pump. Are there two holding areas and should the system have been emptied before the winter ? What if any checks could be done Thank You Frank

272 water system

Frank, The 272 has a single water tank located under the port settee. The waterlines to the galley sink and the vanity both draw from that tank. If the faucet pump at the galley is working and the vanity faucet isn't, you probably need to rebuild the vanity faucet or check the water line for leaks. The tank must be drained before winter storage to prevent damage from ice in the water tank and lines. After the tank is drained, anti-freeze is pumped through the tank and lines to insure that nothing freezes up. You should also check the head to make sure that there is no damage there from freezing. The holding tank for the waste disposal system is under the v-berth. Lift the cushions out and remove the wooden covers and check the tank to be sure that it has been pumped out. If you have any more questions about the 272, read the reviews on the Owners Review Page. There is a list of owners for the 272 and 272LE also on that page who can answer a lot of the questions you may have. E-mail us. Tom Ehmke
