We have a fresh water leak on the starboard side manifesting itself primarily in the aft closet in the owners cabin. We have removed the the bolts from the aft quarter portion of the toe rail, recaulked and tightened all bolts. We have further tightened all bolts in the toe rails on both sides of the boat. We have further caulked the entire length of the toe rail between it and the deck. It is still leaking and are at our wits end. Any experience or suggestions are more than welcome. John Baker

Chasing leaks

Hi John, I don't know if this will help but I can share with you that I've chased down more than my share of deck leaks on my last two boats and nearly all of them have come from either lifeline stanchions or ports/hatches. I can also tell you that with interior liners these leaks can migrate large distances from their origins so don't automatically assume that the culprit is immediately above the observed drip. Good luck

Same leaks on mine.

All fresh water leaks have telegraphed to my aft stateroom and drip onto the bed or into the locker. So far I've repaired more than a dozen but the best solution seems to be a full enclosure for the cockpit.eg. Dodger and bimini with windows for our rainy Northwest. No more leaks and a dry bed. P.S. Most leaks came from helm area.
