Freon leak in A/C

I have a small freon leak in forward A/C unit. Do not know where the leak is but just slow loss of freon. Can I get the leak fixed or do I need to get a new A/C unit? IF I can get it fixed what is the procedure?

Leaks can be fixed if they can be found. The old saying "Just give it a shot" is or should not be practiced with refrigerants.

You can get a refrigerant leak sniffing detector from Harbor Freight for under $100. I used one very successfully to find a leaking o-ring in the system in my car. It would quite the tool to later share or you could re-sell it.
