I end up taking the entire unit out. So I can fix that condensation problem because of poor build quality. No i did not need to take the counter out. See attached pictures. Hope this help others

How was the top-loading freezer attached to the plywood?

I just finished a hunt for a new to me boat, of the 9 boats I viewed 8 of the boats the Fridge/Freezer was inoperable. The boat I bought the surveyor said it just needed Freon added. As this is such a common problem with boats. I believe my boat has SeaFrost? refrigeration unit and will find out shortly if it has fittings to recharge the system. Either way I am going change the compressor out for a Cool Blue Unit, as these will last for 12 to 15 years.

I believe it more how it was installed and treated. I have a 25 year old frigoboat R12 system ,never had a charge. A system never requires a charge unless there is a leak . Hitting the evaporator, scraping ice build up off ,leads to damage and leaks

After three months of rebuilding the countertop, replacing damaged wood, refurbishing the freezer, and installing a new fridge. Here is the final result. Better then the original
