I just purchased a Hunter 31 in northern MI. I have a deposit on a slip on Western Michigan. I am curious abut the height of the dock I am leasing compared to the freeboard of the boat, as my wife may have difficulty getting aboard. I don't have the time to travel back north to measure it myself and I can't seem to find the freeboard measurement anywhere online. Any ideas? Much appreciated1

We experience a tall step to get aboard our 31. We use a single step at our dock and a double step on the city dock to ease boarding. A gentlemanly hand to steady is also in order. We buy them at target or Walmart

If I recall correctly from when I painted my hull. At the stern about 55 inches, midships 60 inches.

Thank you. I'll plan on the 55-60" and talk to the marina about allowing a step. Appreciate the info!

Years ago I found a step that attached with line to the toe rail or stanchion bases. Solved the problem for my wife and I. Not sure if they are still being marketed, but it worked very well.

Thanks- I'll keep my eye out for something like that or perhaps make one- great suggestion!
