About a month or so ago, someone posted some info on the free NOAA charts. Well, I got my copy of October issue of Seaworthy today. Seaworthy is published by BoatUS and is sent to all insured members. So I’m sure many of you have already received it. On page 15, in the Small Stuff section, they mentioned NOAA’s Coast Pilots and Blooklet Charts, for free, and NOAA may or may not decide to expand the project to include all (over 1000) of its charts. They will also contain updated Local Notice to Mariners. Neat.

link to Coast Pilots, Charts, Etc

You can find the links for the Coast Pilots, Charts, Light Lists and a lot of other nautical publications at http://pollux.nss.nima.mil/index/index.html They are free for the downloading. High speed internet access is recommended. Steve Liberty Sailing School of Philadlephia

SevenCs Data Viewer for ENC charts

There are a few viewers around. The one I like is from SevenCs and can be found at the link below.

Looking for help with viewer

Hi everyone. I downloaded the SeeMyDEnc_9x chart viewer, and I can download the DNC files, but I can't seem to get the viewer program to open the files. The 'Help' toolbar with the viewer doesn't provide much help, but, heck.... it's freeware, so whaddaya expect. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks - Rick

Viewer help for SeeMyDEnc

Try importing S-57 Cells. It is the second choice on the "file" menu. Point to the ENC file you would like to open. This should work.
