Greetings from a former H216 owner! When I checked out of this forum after selling "Hobienot 1", I said that I'd report back when I had found our next boat. That day has come! After QUITE a bit of driving around and looking at used boats in various states of disrepair, today I bought a squeaky-clean 1999 West-Wight Potter 19. (Collective groan from the H-brand faithful! :)) Anyway, for where my wife and I are at in our sailing careers, and also taking into account both the towing capacity of our Honda Element, and the fact that we live in a place frequented by hurricanes, this is my interpretation of the best boat we can afford right now. I will be taking delivery this coming Tuesday. Happy sailing to all!] Bob

Bob's 1999 West-Wight Potter 19 - Name?

Thanks for letting us know about your boating choice after Hobienot. Will it be the Hobienot 2? Or maybe Hobienot Not? Aw, just kidding, I know you will pick out a great name. Anyway, I hope you and the first mate will have a great time sailing it. Lamar

West Wight Potter

Let us know how you like the new boat. I've always liked the looks of those and considered one for a little while but didn't find one before we found our h23. Even if its not a hunter the main thing is to enjoy it! Rob Morton

No need to make excuses the West-Wight Potter is a great boat. A lot different than the 216 but your reasons for going that way are solid. I seriously considered the WWP before buying the H260 for the same reasons.

Trading H 216

I would be interested in hearing your comments some day on how you went about selling the H216 and what kind of interest there was for it. Gary

Potters Turning Turtle

Good luck with the West Weight Potter. I also had looked at the W/W Potter before I bought my H 23.5 (love it). The deciding factor against the Potter can be found at this web address. (Click on link below.) It's an article titled "Turning Turtle" which are scary tales by several owners of capsizing the Potter ......
