found a 1967 Cal 30

have only sailed Macgregor 26 for the last 15 years. How tough is the transition going to be to pilot in/around the slips? How is the interior as we are looking for much more room than a 26' would have including full headroom, a real head, kitchen, icebox, etc.

Am I nuts to even consider buying a 43 yr old sailboat? It is in good condition for sure. Am also a bit nervous of the Atomic4 gas engine.

Thoughts? Advice? All is welcome...

ok, the deal has been made, so let the fun begin. Have taken her out for a test sail, quite fast, the Atomic 4 purred like a kitten and we docked her without incident. Tons of stuff to learn regarding new systems and such -- all tips and advice will be quite welcome...
