Forward shower pump not pumping

I am having trouble with my forward shower sump pump. When I remove the outflow hose from the sump enclosure, the pump empties the enclosue well. Once I put the hose back on, the pump will only push out enough water to fill the hose, but will not put enough pressure to make it to the thru-hull. Has any other 460 owners had similar problems with the forward shower pump? I tried a replacement pump motor. No joy. Aft pump works fine. Anxiously waiting an answer so I can shower again...

Sounds like a clogged thru-hull.

The pump is obviously working, so something has to be blocking the end of the hose.

check valve

Some of these boats have a check valve near the thru-hull to prevent back flow when heeling. If its clogged, it wouldprevent the hose from emptying. Has it ever worked? If the check valve is too close to the bottom, the weight of a full head of water may be enough to prevent the valve from opening.

Rule

I had so many problems with my Attwood Sump that I simply replaced the unit with a Rule. So far so good. I am now in the process of replacing my water heater with a Raritan. The Seaward model sprung a leak after only two years. JR

If all else fails....

David: Be sure that your O/P hoses are not kinked, pinched or plugged. Maybe run the water hose from the dock thru them for a test. If all else fails, think about swapping units and see if that works.
