The forward hatch on my Cat. 30 leaks when it rains but not when I wash the boat with a nozzle. It appears that the gasket is dried out and is not sealing the hatch. I can't see any way to adjust the seating of the hatch. Suggestions? New gasket? Source of new gasket? Adjustment of hatch? Other solutions? Thanks.

I HAD SAME PROBLEM

EVENTUALLY I AM SURE I WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THE GASKET AND THE ONE AT CATALINA DIRECT IS THE ANSWER. IN THE MEAN TIME I USED SILICONE LUBE (FROM THE POOL SUPPLY STORE) AND TIGHTENED THE SCREW ON THE DOG. NO MORE LEAK DURING 2" RAINFALL LAST FRIDAY NIGHT. IT SURE MADE SLEEPING IN THE V-BERTH MORE ENJOYABLE. I USE THE SAME SILICONE LUBE ON ALL THE OTHER PORTS GASKETS AS WELL. IT REALLY EXTENDS THE USFUL LIFE OF THE GASKETS. GOOD LUCK!
