Hi all. coming back from Bahamas to fort pierce on Saturday EOD.
Getting contradictory opinions from people re; wind/current/tide/slack.

Anyone actually went through it?
High tide will be at 7p.
We will be done crossing around 4p.
E winds.

Should we come in at 4 with the tide or wait for slack at 7?

In all inlets it is better to have tide and wind aligned. Wind against tide will make for bigger waves. So it depends on the weather forecast.

Keep in mind that slack tide and high tide aren't necessarily at the same time. The time difference can be hours, depending on the inlet. But if you are entering on a rising tide, that's probably the best circumstance.

Good point. Many Chartplotters may include tide and current information which can be helpful.
