solitary bird will leave san diego by march 1 with a new crew of younger and more diversified individuals. we will head to mazatlan and then on toward panama for canal transit vs beagles pass in southern part of south america... we should see some interesting places and critters and sail in some remote areas. we will post pix and updates as we are able.

You are truly blessed and most fortunate that you have the ability to enjoy life and all it's pleasures. God Bless. Stay safe and send pictures. I can only wish I was joining 'all on your voyage. I will be with y'all, just on a different vessel, enjoying the little things that life has to offer.

may sail solo until mazatlan--having crew finding problems..LOL..something about not having a sailpartner i was used to an enjoyed the company of-- oh well..things change so fast--is life-- but we sail ANYWAY.
there wil be so many pix!!!!!!

dont be envious o f me--i had to make a friend go away because he isnt in good enough condition for this trip-and i really was counting on him-- love his stubborn self as a good friend i no longer have-
-i have so many things to do before my deadline--is not self imposed--is a no more having 2 boats kinda thing...be jellus later, after i am going-
-i will picturize the beejeeziz outta ye and ye will be sooo tired of living vicariously thru those ye will forget i had to rebuild boat afore leaving..LOL
and when i get to louisiana, will someone PLEASE get me into the southern bayous so i can enjoy that area--i always wanted to see the region and explore a tad. had to miss it last time i was there.

thankyou for the well wishes-- hope to meet many of ye this trip.....

You just e-mail a few days before you get here and we'll get you in. Might even come meet you in my little 17' Boston Whaler (if you can stand the 2-stroke fumes). And I'll make some Mama's Gumbo for ya, too!

omg--i LOOOVE 2 stroke fumes--i miss them here--- we arent allowed to buy anymore lol-- but some still have---
piece of cake--i will do that-- will be coastal cruising by then so is good....
i am getting so excited-- the bad job has been figured out-- i have appointments with friends from another forum--gotta spread it out, ye know!, and will be ,l i hope, on hte schedule mooring co has given me as to deadlines. not certain when i will be near panama and east coast as yet--and i have legs of trip for adventurous share the sail folks....sent an invite to my former sail partner-- but i think i wont hear from him as he is very noncommunicative--part of the problem i was having trying to figger out the logistics of this adventure.
i will not have spot tracker as that was part of the deal with former partner-- i will be on my own and without signals a lot of the time. so i will advise as to my progress as i am able. also with fishing recipe and bragging rights lol....see if my newly learned fish catching skills are as good for these water as they were in gulf waters!!!!

new doors are so cool---so much yet to do and still so many new folks in the thick of this project-- we may have a haul--just in slings-- for the packing gland replacement-- wow--inching closer to the departure for bird's maiden voyage!!!!

How's it going? Any new prospects ? I sure do wish I wasn't anchored here or I'd be on the next plane west.
Just thinking bout ya and yer voyage.
Actually, just playing around on the computer today seeing if I can ruffle a few feathers. We all like a few small waves anyway. After all what good is a calm sea with no excitement?

the world is full of folks who dont follow thru-- seems i will be solo-ing down to mazatlan.... should be interesting--maybe i can the right hand of god to halp(sailing pastor in our 'hood).....and bahias such as asuncion, other rest stops for an overnite/coupla hour naps..heaving to in a 4 kt southerly drift more than 40 mi off shore,,,,,,,
