Former Charter Boats

I purchased my boat after it went through the second tier charter in the BVI about two years ago. True, no holding tanks, so added the LectraSan to one head. True, needs a lot of upgrading electronic equipment, but had the basics that were in ok working condition. I did have a good surveyor from a club I belong to do the survey. He actually saved me from buying the boat at the price I had offered, but I did purchase it knowing I had a long list of items that had to be fixed, and others that needed to be fixed. I looked at several boats from almost new (less than a year old) to some that probably should have been retired. I decided that whether new or old, there would be things that had to be dealt with. With the older boat, 1993, I paid pretty much for the basic boat. I have added the equipment I wanted, not what was on the boat, at the pace I could manage time and money wise. I did have to triple what the estimated cost would be, given by the surveyor, but all in all, I would do it again, given the same circumstance. You must be prepared to fix most of the problems that arise, or have a very thick wallet and patience.
