I'm leaving tomorrow for a 2 week cruise, so if anyone can help me out quickly I would certainly appreciate it! We just bought a used Force10 small barbeque, model 83730. Completely cleaned it, and installed a new propane bottle regualtor (model 83961) in place of the low pressure regulator. The new regulator came with a new orifice. Put it all together, and it doesn't make a big enough flame. Only stays lit when the reg. is on "High," and even then the back of the burner doesn't light when the front is lit. Very low flame. Not very useful, it would seem. I'm using a brand new bottle of Coleman propane fuel. I don't have the instructions for the barbeque. The only adjustments I can see are the shutter on the burner, and the larger shutter that covers the end of the burner. Help! I'd love to use this one on the cruise, but the way it is I don't think I can. Thanks in advance, jv

I did not understand your comments regarding the change out of the regulator. The force ten comes with a regulator for the small cans and I know you can change it to work with standard 5-10 lbs. LPG cans. That said. there is an adjustment on the regulator assembly that rotates around and adjusts flame mixture that may help. You may have found that one and described - not sure. I did not know that it existed for several months until my partner showed me how it worked.

Got it!

Thanks for the reply Mark. The used grill I bought had been converted for use on the boat's propane system. I bought a new regulator for use with the little bottles. I saw the air adjsutments you mention. I really don't know how to adjust them yet. Any hints appreciated. But the primary problem I had was answered thorugh some intense web searching. It turns out the under the label that's on the flame control knob - the label that says "Push To Turn On" - there is an Allen socket head screw that adjusts the regulator. I lit the grill and while on the "High" setting turned the screw clockwise a few turns until the flame was noticably higher, and then turned the adjustment dial to "Low," and turned the screw back until the flame became unstable at the burner ports - and then turned it back right just a touch. Now I have hwat seems to be a very useful range of flame adjustment. Thanks anyway ot all, and thank goodness for the world wide web. jv

So that's what was wrong with mine!!!!!!

I tossed it and bought one of these, http://www.sportbbq.com/ :) Of course, our F10 had other problems too. Like being WORN OUT. And the flame blew out all the time in trade winds. Never figured that one out either. But I love my new BBQ.
