We have a Force 10 propane range/oven that has recently developed problems with gas control valves for one of the 2 burners and the oven/broiler. The burner valves have thermocouples that sense the flame and require holding in the burner control knob for a few seconds before setting releasing. The end of last year one of the burner valves would light but shut off after setting and releasing the knob. I removed the thermocouple, cleaned it up and reinstalled it with a star-type lock washer per Force 10 service dept. suggestion, still did not work. I replaced the thermocouple with a new one with a separate ground wire, still does not work.

At the beginning of this season the oven control knob locked up. Can push it in but it will no longer turn. Took the front of the valve casing off and lubed it per Force 10 service manger suggestion, still will not turn. Force 10 thinks something may have sheered off inside the valve and suggested replacing the whole valve assembly. I ordered the new valve 3-4 weeks ago and still have not received the new valve.

Has anyone else had problems with their Force 10 galley stove/oven that could offer any advice?

Gas valves

I have a Seaward Princess 2 burner drop in and ever other year one of the valves will seize up and not move. So I will take the valve out of the stove, disassemble, clean, and lube w/ petroleum jelly and reassemble. The first time is the only difficult time, after that, it's like making breakfast..Simple..
