In case anyone has wanted to hike out beyond the seats, but has not felt secure sitting up on the edge, you might want to consider installing footstraps. I used lifeline padding, and ran (2000 lb) 3/8" line inside, connecting to the mast base, and to the rudder connection. It works great, and it's a gas hiking out like it's a big laser.
