On our 2002 Hunter 270 the pushpit mounted remote unit of our Tohatsu 9.8 makes for easier entry & exit from the slip (we also have the motor connected to the rudder so both turn when the tiller is turned).The folding tiller made from $11 of oak trim has been used for 3 seasons. A double set of chainplates forms the hinge, and the wood was wrapped in fiberglass cloth & epoxy where the hinge bolts etc. go through. The tiller folds flat for social events on the boat. We tend to use a tiller extension of the folding tiller & steer from the corner seats.
