I am going to install a folding or feathering propeller on my 310. Has anyone done this? can anyone give me some info on size, products, and performance. I currently have the standard 2 blade that came with the boat. I do not seem get the performance under both sail and power that I have had with past boats this size.

Not sure what more you want?

I have a 1999 H310 with the standard prop. At 2800 RPM, 0-2 ft. seas and 12-15 kts of wind at my bow, I see 7.6 to 7.8 kts on my knot meter and on both of my GPS's. I would check the motor & shaft alignment and also have the prop checked out by a prop shop to be sure it is true before I would drop $1,200.00 plus on a new prop. Good luck and keep me posted on how well the prop works if you buy it Steve, s/v Odyssey...

Flex-o-fold

I have installe on my H-29.5 - which has same engine and almost same displacement and LWL - the "Flex-O-Fold" folding 2 blade 15 by 12 , and it improved much the speed .I know of other who did the same amd all are satisfied , It cost around 600-800 $ . I have it now 2 years , and It performs fine , REgarding the previous reponse about this 310 boat doing at 2800 rpm 7.5 kts with a 18 HP Yanmar... Frankly it is more than Lenght of Waterline derived max theoretical speed for this boat.. . For this boat equipped with 18 HP engine you should do about 6-6.3 kts on calm water/clean boat at 2800 rpm with the better propeller , and 6.5 -6.8 kts at the max 3600 rpm . Frankly for this size of boat , 6 kts at cruising rpm is just fine , don't expect too much from a 18 hp engine..

I see 7.5 kts plus!!!

What I wrote in my last post here is what is see for motor speeds!!! I have had other people sail on my H310 and they are amazed at my motoring speeds, I can not think of anyone one on the lake that I sail on that can keep up with me. (simular sized boat) I don't know, maybe it's just my boat? I do know that 2 GPS's and my knot meter all say the same speed!!! I also know that my motor and shaft and my prop are balanced and true!!!
