Anybody have any ideas or suggestion on mounting a outboard motor on a fold down type mount. I have a 1978 27' Hunter sailboat. I want to install it on the port side/stern, as the ladder is in the center. Suggestions on where to buy the mounts, and maybe some pictures would be really appreciated.

Adjustable brackets & transom adaptor plate

can be found on the West Marine website (just click on the attached link)and presumably on the websites of any number of larger chandleries; e.g. Defender USA, etc. By mounting the bracket on a sliding transom adaptor we have used similar adaptor plates (but manufactured out of strong stainles steel instead of aluminum) to exchange the outboard with a fish finder, a watergenerator and even an auxiliary windvane rudder! Just make sure you find an adjustable bracket with maximum vertical travel in order to get the outboard (or watergenerator propellor) as as far as possible above the waves (thus avoiding constant dunking in rough weather). Success! Flying Dutchman "Rivendel II" (Legend 43, hull #1)

There is one there now that is at $50 if I remember right

Hint:

Mount the engine on the centerline, move the ladder to the side. This will keep the prop in the water a greater percentage of the time, as well as with the boat heeled to either side, which it will do even with the sails down.

Exactly what I'm looking for

Thanks Henk...thats exactly what I'm looking for. Appreciate the link. Also that vertical sliding transom your talking about sounds like a great idea.
