The foam blocks in my 88 MacGregor have completely disintegrated. Has anyone ever replaced the foam that can advise me as to the density required and best way to go about this task?
I have a 1989 26d, and have recently made some modifcations that allowed me to examine the internal flotation foam, and it is fine. I'm really curious how your foam could have disintegrated? What exactly does it look like? In what part of the boat did you find it in this condition and did you look at it anywhere else?
You can buy replacement flotation blocks directly from McGregor or from Havencraft. You should be able to access them by removing plywood panels under the v-berth and at the rear, underneath the cockpit seats.
