Flushing Using the Dry Bowl Setting

Everything works great on the boat but the head. We are getting odors from under the sink in the head. I think I found the problem and will fix it next weekend. It appears that a fitting is leaking just a little. Probably enough to cause the odors. Will replace ASAP. The other problem I am having is that my Groco head when set to "dry flush" continues to pump water into the bowl. I have pumped it twenty times thinking that there was water in the line that needs to go through the system. It should be noted that I did rebuild the pump in the spring. Could the problem be I didn't rebuild correctly?

Two possibilities...

Either you didn't install something correctly when you rebuilt it, or the dry/flush valve has failed and needs replacing. If that's the case and it's an HF, if it's more than a few years old, you're prob'ly better off--definitely better if it's an obsolete HC or HE model--replacing the whole toilet than starting to buy one a part at a time...'cuz on older toilets, when the first piece of hardware fails, others won't be far behind.
