I am having an issue with my head. When I set the selector to pull seawater to flush the head it will not do so. I am sure all of the seacocks and valves are open properly.

Any ideas what this could be?

I had that problem in the spring. I eventually put a new lower unit in and re-used the same bowl. However, at first I thought the thru-hull might be plugged, then I realized the head sink was draining through the same thru-hull fitting. So I pumped it figorously and it did break free whatever was clogging the system. Some dark particles came through for a while. Then it worked. But it developed a leak and was pretty old, so I replaced it with Peggie's expert advice. I also bought her book from SBO.

Peggie will probably be along soon to advise you. I'm not advising simply pumping it figorously as I did. When I did that, I had already decided to replace.

Fly: Try back flushing the raw water intake with a garden hose if it does not flow when you remove the hose from the toilet intake. If that is not the case, then remove the hose from the thru hull and see if you can get water (under a little pressure) to flow thru from the other side.

Before offering any advice, it's useful to know...

The make/model/age of the toilet.

Peggie/Headmistress at Jim and Joan's house, on Jim's computer. I'll be back at home on my own machine tomorrw afternoon late.
