I know this is impossible, but...
When I pump the head (Wilcox Crittenden Head Mate) on my 1983 catalina 30 waste comes out the vented stanchion.
What makes this impossible is that I have a holding tank eye installed on the holding tank and I can see that the tank is not full.
Suggestions?
Thanks in advance for the help

It's not impossible...

If you check the vent line, I'll bet you'll find a sag in it. When you're heeled when the tank is at least half full, waste runs into the vent line and stays in that sag...till you flush the toilet and push it out.

The REAL long shot is, you CAN push it out...that it hasn't created a blockage in your vent line. In fact, I'm surprised that the slit in the stanchion isn't clogged.

Catalina is the only builder I know of who's vented waste tanks into stanchions...it's such a BAD idea that even they have stopped doing it. So if I were you, I'd install a proper vent thru-hull and rerouted the vent line out of the stanchion to it...after you straighten out the line.
