Ok all sailors. Its time for another fun filled, exciting Florida keys trip in April for about 10 days. We will be leaving on April the 19th and welcome any that want to join in. Sailing from St Petersburg, FL to Key west. Aprox 3 nights in key west, then on the the dry torgugas for 3 nights.

Last Week

I am trying to put together the same trip with another boat as we speak,we are leaving on a trip heading your way April 2/3 and will be back in Punta Gorda around the 18/19 and than leave for Key West/Dry Turtugas on around 25 or so pending my crew's plans.

Cool. We have currently 4 boats going. One is a trawler. We are all very excited. I lived in Key West several years, but for most it will be there first time.

Will be waiting to hear how the trip went, especially if you go through FL Bay. Last time we went to Marathon, swore never again. Too many crab traps.

When I sailed my H-36 down from NY to FT Pierce and than around the keys I went through Channel 5 and OMG traps like you would not believe but we went during day light and did not have a problem motoring the whole trip up to Punta Gorda no wind.
I would like to go to Dry Tortugas first and than Key West and I guess from Key West back to Punta Gorda.
This will be my first time to both.

I hope some of you heading Key West/Tortugas direction have internet access and keep you progress posted. Hopefully I am leaving Slidell this weekend along with another boat headed the same way. A meet up/raft up would be nice.

Sometimes you just want to scream. I just got back to Cleveland, home of the perpetually frozen lake, from Key west. After ten days I had enough, because I was bored and needed to sail. Go figure.
