I use a product, from West Marine, very similar to that on my shower pan. I don't think I would want that in the cockpit as I sail barefooted and that mat would be a bear to stand on all day.

This product looks good an would work well in lasarette compartments. the product west marine sells is call dri-deck it has little nubbys. which a friend put in his cockpit. I was interested and ask him how he liked it and said that it hurt his bare feet. Now as far I might concider it as I dont like barefoot sailing to many thing to hit your toes on.

that stuff looks like it would be good for the bottom of an anchor locker ....as far as the cockpit is concerned ...i would just get a good rubber back indoor/outdoor carpet and cut to fit

I would use a good yacht-grade solution like Interdeck and have done with it. Everything else is less than optimal.

The suggestion of using this plastic gridlock system on the bottom of an anchor locker has merit. However, it WILL trap mold, seaweed, dirt, etc., that will lead to a nasty stench; so frequent removal and full washout is recommended.

I agree, I wear my shoes all the time, so haven't seen the need for Dri-dek or anything else in the cockpit. Also concerned that what ever you put down can't slip underfoot. Your mileage may vary.
