and the lines are rotting. I tried jamming one of those devices similar to a snake used on clogged toilets to open up the drain, no luck. Any suggestions appreciated.

Try

getting forward of the forward bulkhead in the v berth. If your boat is like mine, there is a plastic hose leading from the anchor locker drain to the outboard drain. If you can remove & clean it, great. Otherwise, this hose is available at West Marine for almost nothing. Good luck

Run it backwards

You may have already tried this, but try unclogging it from the thru-hull side. I'd be nervous running a plumbing snake that I'd puncture the hose, and have an anchor well full of 'yuch' in my v-berth. But, I'd look at tryting to hold a hose up to the outlet side. That way the clog comes back out the way it came in ... hopefully.T J

one more thing to try

You could try "flushing" it out with water pressure from a garden hose (try either end; anchor locker and thru-hull). Be careful not to blow the tubing out...

Worked like a charm

I crammed the hose nozzle in the opposite end, where it exits the hull. All sorts of debris came a bubbling out, Louisiana crude. Now if I can just keep it clean...Thanks, Scott S/V hello Dolly

Put a green scrub pad over the hole.

Mine filed up last week (6 foot waves and water over the bow) and I had salt water in the Sprint 600 windlass...that is also in the anchor locker.. Killed it.. Now I use the green pad. It lets water through but not the crude.. Also thinking about putting a second drian in half way up.. as a backup.
