Thanks to a spring flood followed by a working trip to Germany, I finally got my boat cleaned up and ready to sail today (Aug 24)!
Not only would this have been a lot more fun in April or May, but not getting to the boat resulted in all the mud-daubers, wasps and spiders getting in a good nesting and hatching season!
Well, one good pressure hose session, a can of Wasp & Hornet spray, and a good cleanup later I am ready for one helluva fall sailing season! Or at least I will be when I can return to my boat and clean up after the fumigator/fogger I left in the cabin!
OK, I just had to vent -- vent now, sail soon! Hopefully the Corps of Engineers will have the dam closed by mid-week and Alton Lake will, once again, act more like a dammed lake than an open river!
