I will be replacing my existing fresh water pump with a variable speed drive pump and there seem to be three available, all with roughly the same performance. Does anyone have thoughts on whether Shurflo, Jabsco or Flojet is a better pump? They all appear and read similar enough that perhaps they are all by the same manufacturer and marketed by different companies. As always, thanks for the input! Sandy

I have no idea how they compare, but I have had a SureFlo Smart Sensor 4 for 5 years now and it has been fine.. I was worried about the "resting" current draw, but it turns out that it is very low. less than a quarter of an ampere .. The pump is very quiet and works fine. It takes a second or two for it to respond to big demands, but catches up quickly .. It is so quiet that you won't detect a slow leak by the noise of a cycling pump.

FWIW I had a Jabsco fail the first day of a planned 3 week cruise and replaced it with the same. It worked for one day and failed. Sailed back home and returned it to WM who didn't want to exchange it since I didn't buy a warranty. After some argument, it was only 3 days old, they exchanged it. Second pump is still working after 2 years. I guess you take your chance.

No experience with flojet? I am leaning toward shurflo but curious about flojet which doesn't seem to be sold by any of the marine suppliers but rather Camping World for RVs. I worry about Jabsco.

Just an alternative

A Vacuflush system. Your boat is plenty big enough for the components. Will work with your fresh water system. It basically comes in a module that besides the head itself and the vaccum tank, is plug and play.

Bottom line, YOU CAN FLUSH A LOAF OF BREAD down it. No mascerator!

I have had to replace a collapsed line in all the years I have had one.

Not a salesman, just a though for you.
