Greetings,I have some questions about the drive train installation on your Yanmar inboard powered Hunter 25.5s. My inboard in the Yanmar 1GM10. Has anyone installed any type of flexible coupling in their drive trains? When I bought my boat the transmission output flange was bolted directly to the prop shaft flange. Seeing that the engine is on flexible rubber mounts and does move quite a bit during operation having a direct coupling like this would seem to be a bad idea. Cutlass bearings would wear out in addition to tearing up the transmission early. I was thinking of installation something like the PYI R & D Flexible Coupling. Basically it's a piece of some reliant material that you put between the two flanges to absorb some of the vibration. Does anyone's 25.5 have one of these already installed? Or are all of them directly bolted? Or for that matter anyone with a small inboard engine also....Thanks.
