Have not seen them or used them. If they are similar to the roll up inflatable cushions used by hikers and campers they might be useful, although all the weight at one area might let you feel the hard seat anyway.

this is exactly what they are.... only a little thicker. and as anyone who has had experience with the inflatable camper pads knows, they arent as convenient as they sound, and they are slick, light and dont stay put very well without fasteners or ties of some type.
a 2" foam cushion will easily fold in thirds for storage, and is not as slippery..... but may cost more, in my opinion its because its worth it.

I don't really know your disposition ...some boat owners really want their boat to look posh... but if you just want something to get you on the water this summer in comfort... consider going to a Big Lots or C.O.M.B. or even a dollar general and get you some patio furniture cushions for $8. Rip open the seam, cut them to size and super glue the seam back together. I did this for my first two trailer sailboats...They will last you two or three seasons before they look bad and by then you will have a much better idea of what you really need to spend money on to make your boating a happy time. Just my 2 cents and the advice I would give myself if I could go back in time.

They will add a very dramatic flair to your tacks as they lift and flutter leeward like colorful leaves before the autumn wind!

My thoughts too. If they aren't baffled, the air support would probably squirt out from under your butt.

RE: dense foam cushions - one inch thick......we were given an old set of three cushions that did not match our boat canvas. Eileen with the help of her sewing skills made covers for them. Comfortable, heavy enough to stay put, and a matching color.
RE: 2 inch or any thickness foam cushions.....Can be found in the dumpster and can be recovered after a thorough cleaning.

Nice pic Phil. A little dumpster diving in your own driveway? Hope the move is going well. Send me a PM if there's anything I can help you with. We're getting ready to splash into Cayuga at the end of April.

Our seating cushions were all custom fitted and produced to form a locked in horseshoe around the cockpit. All done by the PO.
