Flag Halyard installation question

I would like to install a flag halyard block to the underside of the spreader. Any problems with drilling holes in the spreader to install an eye strap? Had used this method on larger boats but not certain if this would be a problem with the somewhat smaller spreader on the the 29.5. Thanks

I don't know the proper answer, but I own a 25.5 and did just that. Two small holes seem to have made no difference. I did put some corrosion prevention on the SS screws to avoid other problems.

I did it on my 29.5,10yrs ago, no prob
