Hi,I'm interested in trailering my cat 22 to east coast of Fla. Was wondering where a good sailing area is and also possibly a small town with marina that's not to pricey. I've been to the keys, where do you go when you get the boat in the water? Is there a guide that they sell on were to go and what to do? We have a few here in the NW that are excellent.

On the east coast of Florida (in the Keys) you have the Hawk Channel, which is quite protected for your size boat. What you need is a place where you can launch your boat and then have a safe place to keep your trailer while underway. I have sailed the entire east coast of Florida and a lot of the west coast, but never launched a trailerable anywhere other than in Stock Island (close to Key West), so I have no recommendations. On the Gulf Side, a good place to go is Burnt Store Marina. Marathon Key has a lot of facilities for boats.

Nice low cost area to sail is the Indian River (ICW) in the Melbourne area. Within 1.5 drive hours of the area are Kennedy Space Center, Orlando, Cocoa Beach, Lake Okeechobee etc... I trip that I want to do is; south to Sebastian, over night at Captain Hirams, then head north again up to Port Canaveral, on the Banana river, through the barge canal, up the Indian river again, up to Titusville, up through the Mosquito lagoon to New Smyrna Beach, or south all the way down to Jupiter/west palm beach
