Does anyone have instructions on how to repair scratches in the ACP hull material of a H216 (or H170)? I would prefer to first fill the scratch with some kind of plastic epoxy and then sand and possible paint. I've heard that there is possibly a 2-part plastic epoxy sold at Wal-Mart that might work. What is the brand or specific type? I've also heard that there is an adhesive made by Plexus that is good. Where does one get the Plexus product? I've also heard that you can paint with Krylon 1501. Are there any instructions for this? Where do you get this? Any help would be appreciated. I got a nasty scratch on my boat the last time I retrieved it at the boat ramp.

H-216 Scratch Fixing

Jeff, As far as I remember: 1. Plexus is not an adhesive, it is an epoxy that will stick to the ACP. 2. I have heard you can get the epoxy at WalMart also. I have not looked and I do not know if it is Plexus. 3. Paint: The white Fusion paint for plastic at ACE hardware is supposed to stick and almost match the hull white. As per Hunter, it is not an exact match but certainly less expensive than purchasing an exact match somewhere that will stick to the hull.

Devcon Plastic Welder

Hi Jeff, I'm faced with a similar repair due to a cable gouge. The Plexus material is marketed as Devcon Plastic Welder. Wal-Mart should have the product you are looking for and I think you will find it in the paint section, not in the boating section. The H216 Manual that I have has instructions how to repair the type of damage you have if I have understood you correctly. If you don't have any luck at Wal Mart you may want to do a search on Devcon and contact them to see what other retail outlets may have it in in your area. I haven't done my repairs yet so it would be helpful if you could let us know how you come. Lamar Sumerlin
