Fixing or replacing old style pump faucet

I have been working on my pump faucet. I have it pumping well and looking good with the exception of a leak where the spout connects to the base (by thumb). There doesn't appear a way to get into this area. I have thought about injecting some silicone up in there to see if I can create a makeshift gasket. Anyone else have any luck?

If not, what manual pump have you replaced it with that still allows the kitchen to slide back into storage? I have seen Stingy Sailors electric pump, but I prefer manual.

3The original pump used in the Catalina 22 sourced from the recreational vehicle industry is no longer available.

There are a few options but you would need to measure for fit.
One possiblt option is called a flipper pump.

SBO store sells them.

I know you can get the vertical pump, originally used on the c22 new design.

That is the Whale V MK6

It slides up and down for filling a pot but stays low for storage.

When used on the galley in a first generation Catalina 22 with a sliding galley, overall height from galley top to top of pump is important. If the pump is too high, the galley will not slide aft under the cockpit for storage. The available space above the galley varies over time and from boat to boat. Therefore you must measure the distance between the top of your galley to the underside of the lowest point overhead in the quarter berth to know if any faucet pump will fit.

I quit fighting the trying to repair appliances and fixtures without proper parts availability years ago. Just replace with the most popular option at this moment. I believe for your application it would be a small electric pump fixture. Is not worth the aggravation of having leaks, of fixing it and having it break again shortly.

The whale v mk6 manual faucet used on the new design and later C22 has had a "service kit" available for decades. Unfortunately the original design boats used a discontinued RV pump.
