Before you rip the entire port hole out and if it is an opening port, check to see if the seal is still holding. I just replaced all my Gray 512 lenses due to the fact that you could not see out of them, and the seals, to stop the leaks. The seals were so squashed and petrified, only using some Vaseline would help as a temporary fix. The leaks were present on the bottom of the lens. Side view of the seal of the ones that came out, looked like a square, but the new is more like a "T" with the bottom of the "T" inserting into the slot, having a peel off glue surface.
Look at the pictures attached. In the one featuring the new lens, you can see how much black gasket materiel is present over the picture of the old. Our store on this site has the seal and sells it by the foot. Each 512 lens uses just under 3 ft. Sorry about the pictures being sideways, still havent gotten the hang of using my phone camera.
