Getting ready for a week long trip east on the Columbia river. Just located a slow leak in the v-birth. It is coming from a speed or depth thru hull transducer. Not sure if I should try and seal a bad seal or what??? The manual pump works pretty well when it gets full, but I am now worried about the strength of the adhesive. I am gonna have my new bride and three kids aboard for the week. Here is a pic. Any ideas? Is this a trip killer? Protected waters from Portland to Hood River Oregon.

I had a simlar problem. The ring that holds the transducer was broken. It leaked intermittantly. I took it out of the water and replaced them both. Check and see if the holding ring or nut is broken. If so you can replace it without taking her out of the water. Just buy a new transducer and only replace the ring. Put some 4200 first. When you come back then take it out of the water and fix it properly. My opinion.

Great, thanks for the info. I will look at the ring. I am contemplating having the transducers removed and holes patched up anyway. With the GPS/Sonar unit, dont really need them anyway. And the speed transducer on a swift river isn't that helpful when your going up stream!

Thanks,
JB
