After every jaunt down the highway, especially on a hot day,I always had bearing grease clean up duty to perform on wheel hubs, tires and at times boat hull too. Now thanks to 2" wide duck tape which I run around the O/D of the B'Bs extending out about 1 1/2 " any projectile grease misses wheels, tires & boat entirely. ;) Ron

don't bother

Personally, I don't have a lot of use for bearing buddies; I know, the 2 or 3 lbs pressure inside is supposed to keep water out. That's fine, but how many really do regular maintenance every season by removing all the previous seasons' grease and wear, and repacking with fresh grease? If grease is slipping out then perhaps there's too much being pumped in or the seals are weak/bad. See "regular maintenance every season", and replace annualy when doing this service work.

Look at "Greasing Bearings" in trailersailor.com

It discusses this subject in some detail and is very informative.
