Fixed portlight leaks?

I'm leak chasing and I have already replaced all opening portlights among other things. I have a leak that shows up from time to time just below and outboard of the starboard fixed portlight. Some previous owner has seen fit to smear caulk around the edge of the portlight frames, so I am suspicious. As you may know, these portlights have no thru-bolts and seem to be held in place with that thin plastic frame and sealant. Does anyone have previous experience removing and re-bedding these fixed portlights?

Fixed portlights

I took mine out and replaced the glass. Mine were hedlin with screws (Through)from the inside frame to the outside frame. The sealant seemed more likeold fashoined caulking than it did any newer silicone or 5200 type sealant. They came out pretty easy. I posted details of the replacment last week

Thanks Bob-I found your post.

Also a few more, one regarding mast base leaks migrating to the fixed portlight frames among other places. I know that my mast base is leaking and very compressed, so it's on this Winter's to do list. I may just jump ahead to that monumental task and see how the portlights react to that repair.
