Fixed a big leak today!

My 1979 ODay 25 has leaked when it rained for a couple of years. Only when it rained so I knew it was on top. Today I got it. The anchor locker hose had gotten shorter over the years and had actually pulled the fitting out of the bow. About fifty percent of the water would go out the front and fifty in the bilge. It was running behind the carpet in the bow so you couldn't see it. The carpet never got wet nor did anything else. I reasoned that it had to be from the cockpit drain or the bow because nothing ever got wet inside. It has also rotted the wood that reinforced the bow eye, so I have a little work to do. I will sleep better now that I'm on the right track.

When I bought our 25, the PO had taken out the small bulkhead to get to the leaking anchor locker hose. Had said he fixed it but we soon found it we had the same issue as you. I put on a new hose and epoxied in the fitting.
My problem is the PO threw away the bulkhead so I have a big ugly spot. I just put a pillow over it for now.

Nice job finding that leak.

I was beginning to think I was the only one excited about it....
My bulk head is there, but it has an open hole and the drain hose is the first thing you see. I need to make a cover for the hole to dress it up a little. I might put a small mirror there to make the space look bigger.
