Hello,
I am looking for ideas as to fitting a greywater tank to a Beneteau Oceanis 50.
My thoughts are the discharge would be through the washing machine seacock with an extra valve and 'Y' piece. Ideally the tank would be in the bilge area where the shower sumps could gravity feed along with the sinks, but there is probably only room there for 50 - 80 litres at the most and it would have to be a custom tank. The other option is a small sump tank there that then pumps up to a larger tank in the centre of the stern just behind the generator, which then gravity drains as required, through the below-water washing machine outlet. I would rather not use a 'gulper' pump (noise) to drain this, but that may be the only option with a regular auto-bilge pump probably not liking the hair that would inevitably come through from the showers, or any waste from the galley sink ?
Also, I assume if I am going to do this, that I need to divert all grey water to the tank ? That means two shower pans, two wash basins, and one galley sink - hm, lot of extra plumbing there !
Perhaps there are some ideas from another Beneteau or similar yacht to help me with my planning.
Thanks,
David
