Fitting an electronic wind guage

I have purchased a NAVMAN brand electronic wind meter that has a mast head unit, cable and the actual meter to be fitted in the cockpit. Without going up the mast, can anybody tell me what is required at the top of the mast to fit this unit. I have found that there appears to be a conduit up the mast with a pull through twine rope appearing in the saloon cabin roof. We have VHF and mast top light cable running through this conduit. There does not seem to be sufficient room at the top of the mast to mount anything else. Perhaps it has to be mounted on the front of the mast with a bracket. Any information would be greatly appreciated. PS we are right in the middle of our winter now with temps of 25c. Clear skies and light winds. Thanks Keith Milestone _/) mlstone@gil.com.au

Mast mount.

I installed a Nexus wind instrument, not a Navman. But maybe they are similar. There was plenty of room on the plate at the top. The VHF is side-mounted, I have a combo anchor/running light in the middle, and the windex on the back side of the plate. The Nexus wind transducer has a small footprint, about 2x3". To this bracket is an aluminum rod that sticks out about 14"(35.6 cm?). So only the bracket needs room on the mast. I drilled and tapped three mounting holes near the front of the mast. Can't help you with the wire run. My Kenyon mast is totally different.
