I am in the process of refurbishing and upgrading her ready for sailing next Spring, or before. Following previous questions and threads I have now managed to get back to working on the boat and should be fitting the fridge unit next weekend.
I investigated the insulation around the coolbox and there appears to be 40-50mm inside the cupboard under the sink unit.
This will be plenty insulation for the temperatures we have here in Scotland even in summer.
My plan is to fit the refrigeration unit in the bottom of the sink cupboard and vent it from the space underneath which has the sea-cock for the sinks as I think this air will be as cool as it gets anywhere near enough to the coolbox.
I have a Weaco(Dometic) CU-85 unit and VD-09 evaporator.
The new cooker is now wired in and is just waiting on the gas guy connecting things up and checking the system.
The Yanmar engine has been removed and is currently undergoing some TLC at the local specialist. We spent this weekend emptying 29 gallons of four year old diesel, which was filthy and removing the fuel tank for cleaning before the engine goes back in. The engine compartment is now painted brilliant white and looks great.
The balance weight inside the mast compression post still refuses to move so the table will be lifted and lowered manually.
I will no doubt be back next week with more questions and photo's of progress if anyone is interested.
