Fitting a Forgen and a "blipper" to the mast?

Hi all, well I have moved on to the mast. The rest is not complete yet - I am waiting for some bits to arrive.
I found a Forgen genny and a big white plastic thing when I emptied out the boat. I have been wondering what to do with them and I discovered that the Forgen fits perfectly on a bracket already on the front of the mast (by the spreaders)and the plastic thing (its called a "Blipper?") seems to fit nicely on a couple of brackets just above.

It seems that the brackets are for the items above... I was just wondering if they are likely to cause problems with fouling all sorts of stuff?
I guess the blipper is a radar thing? Do they work?

John, the boat is looking nice. I found this site for the "Blipper" GPS & Radar - Marine Electronics - Navigation I'll be interested to know how well the Forgen works.

Thanks Craig... not sure how effective the blipper thing will be! The Forgen is only a trickle charger.. I am told they are bombproof and can be just connected to the battery and left alone. Not a huge output but it came with the boat. Hoping to get it in the water next week - fingers crossed!
